From the building in which we have our studio (De Kroon) you can see the Nieuwe Maas river, which splits the city of Rotterdam in two.

For a exhibition at De Kroon we thought it would be interesting to somehow visualize which ships come by and where they are going. Using a thermal receipt printer we’re printing small tickets showing live information from AIS (‘Automated Identification System’, a global network of real-time data on ships and other vessels).
